Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma will fit "like hand in glove" into her new portfolio as Home Affairs Minister, her spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said on Sunday.
Mamoepa was reacting to President Jacob Zuma's new Cabinet announcement that shifted Dlamini-Zuma from the foreign affairs ministry to home affairs.
"She [Dlamini-Zuma] is perceived as Mrs Fix-it of government. First she was sent to health to sort out the two major battles involving the tobacco and pharmaceutical industries," he said.
"Today South Africa is punching way above its weight. Home affairs needs fixing and now they need Mrs Fix-it again.
"As far as the minister [Dlamini-Zuma] is concerned, she has been part of home affairs before and she will fit in like hand in glove," Mamoepa said.
President Zuma appointed Maite Nkoana-Mashabane as the new Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, the ministry's new name.
