The Black Gun Owners Association of South Africa will stage a protest march against aspects of the Firearm Control Act, a spokesperson said on Monday.
It was hoped the event would draw 10 000 participants in Durban on Friday, said BGOASA national chairperson Abios Khoele.
"Supporters [will] tender a list of grievances which needs to be addressed by the Minister of Safety and Security."
The list demands that confiscated firearms be audited and a full report tabled to BGOASA and the public.
The association was also demanding immediate talks with the minister.
The 30 June deadline for licence renewal must be rescinded, and the criminalisation of law-abiding, taxpaying gun owners had to stop.
"This arbitrary confiscation of property by government without compensation must [also] cease," Khoele said.
