The case against a Lesotho man accused of killing two Free State farmers was postponed in the Viljoenskroon Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Free State police spokesperson Maselela Langa said the matter against Hopolang Mokoena Moeketsi (25) was postponed for further investigations until 29 May.

"The court is also waiting for a decision to be taken by the Director for Public Prosecution."

Moeketsi was earlier referred to the Bloemfontein Psychiatric Centre for 30 days' observation.

The self-proclaimed traditional doctor was arrested on the farm of Jan van Wyk (82) at Vierfontein, by members of Free State Agriculture's rural safety organisation in April, after neighbours suspected something was wrong.

It was reported that Moeketsi was found sweeping the veranda and making food on Van Wyk's farm when the organisation's members found him.

Van Wyk's mutilated body was found in the dining room of the house.

Moeketsi was also accused of allegedly killing another Vierfontein farmer, Basie Venter (65) less than 24 hours earlier.

Venter was apparently attacked with an iron rod outside his farm house.
