One of the men was arrested for allegedly killing his 22-year-old wife following a squabble, said Superintendent Mtati Tana on Monday.
The couple had been at a shebeen in the Fort Grey informal settlement when they started arguing.
"It is alleged the husband then dragged the wife to their shack and assaulted her with a blunt object," Tana said.
The 35-year-old man apparently only realised his wife was dead when he woke up on Sunday afternoon.
"They went to sleep and when the husband woke up the woman was dead. Police were then called (at 1pm) and the man was arrested," he said.
Also arrested on Sunday was a man accused of being a member of a gang that stabbed a 24-year-old man to death in the Needs Camp township.
"The man was stabbed at 3.20am after a fight broke out between two gangs. He died of stab wounds in the chest, stomach and face," he said.
Other alleged gang members were still at large.
Another man was killed in the East London CBD following an argument with a 22-year-old man early on Saturday morning.
"According to information received by police, the victim was allegedly under the influence of liquor. He then kicked the suspect's door and an argument broke out between them," Tana said.
The 22-year-old is alleged to have then stabbed the man twice in the right-had side of his chest and twice on the left arm.
The stabbed man was declared dead on arrival in hospital and his assailant was arrested at 2.20am.
