A disabled man was assaulted and robbed of goods worth more than R800 000 in Pinelands on Monday, Cape Town police said.
A 21-year-old man broke into a house where he found a 60 -year-old disabled man, said Inspector Leslie Adams.
"He assaulted him with his own crutches before he opened the door for his 40-year-old accomplice," he said.
The two men ransacked the house and stole hand made knives, a safe and a customised 9mm firearm. The stolen items amounted to R840 000."
Police believe that the men came in a bakkie, as "the safe was too big to be transported with an ordinary car".
"The stolen knives were engraved 'F Le Grange' and the firearm had an extended barrel and night vision. These are real collector's items."
Police appealed to anyone with more information on the case to contact Detective Constable Cecil Delport 021-506-2118.
