A 27-year-old Orange Farm man has been arrested for allegedly
beating his girlfriend to death, Sebokeng police said on Tuesday.
The man was arrested late on Monday following the death of his
girlfriend on Saturday, said Captain Johannes Motsiri.
The two are alleged to have been embroiled in an argument at
around 8pm on Saturday when the man slapped the 19-year-old woman
around.
Badly beaten, the woman is alleged to have left her boyfriend's
yard in Orange Farm extension two, south of Johannesburg, en-route
to her parent's home a few metres away.
"But she collapsed before she could reach her home and died,"
said Motsiri.
The arrested man was expected to appear in the Vereeniging
Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, facing a murder charge.
