The murder case against former Orlando Pirates soccer star Mandla Sithole was postponed in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Gauteng police said.
Inspector Kay Makhubela said Sithole would remain in custody and his bail application would continue on Wednesday.
The former striker handed himself to police on Monday. He allegedly stabbed and strangled Thulani Ndlovu (30) on Sunday in a dispute over R100.
"He handed himself to police around 7pm [on Monday], following reports carried in the media."
Ndlovu was strangled and then stabbed in the chest. Sithole allegedly drove Ndlovu to Leratong hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival, Makhubela said.
According to reports in The Star newspaper, Ndlovu was with five friends in Dlamini Street, Dobsonville, Soweto, when Sithole arrived in his bakkie and confronted Ndlovu.
