A case against former hoax e-mail accused Muziwendoda Kunene was postponed in a Pretoria Regional Court on Wednesday.

IT expert Kunene (45) appeared in the dock wearing orange prison overalls, his hands and legs chained.

His case was postponed to 8 July to give his attorney time to prepare for trial.

Kunene is accused of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly shooting himself in the hand in November 2007, under the pretence that he was attacked for giving information to the media.

He allegedly shot his son Msebenziwenkosi in 21 November in 2007, to prevent him from testifying against him another case in which he was later found guilty of the 2007 murder, robbery and kidnapping of Ballito estate agent Lynne Hume.

Kunene was acquitted of fraud charges in the hoax email case in January.
