The court, situated at the Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg, was to have heard a complaint by the Sonke Gender Justice Network on comments made by Malema in January while addressing students at the Cape Peninsula University.
He is reported to have said that women who accused President Jacob Zuma of rape had a "nice time" with him, the network said.
It was particularly concerned that he also reportedly said: "When a women [sic] didn't enjoy it, she leaves early in the morning. Those who had a nice time will wait until the sun comes out, request breakfast and ask for taxi money."
The network wants Malema to apologise for the comments and to stop "making further comments that undermine women's dignity".
The matter was postponed to 9 and 10 July 9 for the defence to consider a formal amendment to the complaint.
In 2006, Zuma went on trial charged with the rape of a woman who visited his house. He admitted having sex with her and after a lengthy trial was acquitted.
