An injured man who was possibly a hijack victim was found in the boot of a car in Brown's Farm in Cape Town, ER24 emergency services said on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Tristan Wadeley said workers at a nearby factory noticed a suspicious vehicle on Clive road at around 8pm on Monday.

The workers went to investigate the Nissan Sentra and heard noises coming from the boot. They then called the police who found the man in the boot.

Paramedics treated the man, believed to be in his thirties, for severe head wounds and suspected head injury. He was taken to Groote Schuur hospital for further treatment.

"The man had a decreased level of consciousness due to his injuries, so the exact events are unknown but it is believed that the patient was possibly a victim of a hijacking," Wadeley said.
