The controversial sex video allegedly featuring Joost van der Westhuizen is apparently being analysed by forensic experts.

The former rugby player is adamant he is not the man in the video, which shows a couple having oral sex and snorting what is believed to be an illegal substance.

Tabloid magazine Heat, which published pictures from the video, said the original footage was given to Van der Westhuizen because his lawyers wanted experts to test whether the tape is legitimate.

Meanwhile, Joost and Amor Van der Westhuizen were not commenting further on the matter.

The question of whether or not it is indeed the former Bok player in the footage is filling up internet sites.

Some have messages of support for the former rugby star and his family, while others included postings about various other scandals he had allegedly been involved in.

Amid all the speculation, Van der Westhuizen will celebrate his birthday on Friday.
