The Gauteng Health Department maintains that it has not detected a condom shortage in the province.

Fears were raised after condom dispensers in certain areas were not restocked at the end of the month.

The department’s JP Louw says every area should have an adequate supply a day or two after they have run out.

"There is nothing to panic about, we have a very efficient courier service system that works," Louw says.
