At least 25 people were arrested in a police stop and search operation in Katlehong, Johannesburg police said on Tuesday.

Captain Mega Ndobe said the suspects were linked to crimes like rape, attempted rape, assault, intimidation, domestic violence, attempted housebreaking and shoplifting.

A stolen Honda Ballade was also seized during the 24-hour blitz.

Ndobe said the suspects were due to appear in the Alberton and Germiston Magistrate's Courts on Tuesday.
