The prosecutor in the sex crimes trial of former Pretoria advocate Cezanne Visser has accused her of trying to turn state witness in order to avoid going to jail.

Visser and her former lover Dirk Prinsloo allegedly sexually abused several women and girls.

Prinsloo left Visser to face the music alone when he skipped bail and fled the country almost three years ago.

Prosecutor Andre Fourie told Visser that she only tried to turn state witness against Prinsloo after she had heard the overwhelming evidence against them.

Fourie said Visser?s offer to testify in return for indemnity came after several witnesses had already taken the stand.

Visser denied this, saying she had bent over backwards to play open cards with the state but that her attempts to come clean were rejected.

Fourie told the court the reason why she was not called to testify against Prinsloo was because she never made a full disclosure.

Visser claims all her actions were on Prinsloo?s instructions because she feared him and wanted to keep him happy.

During her evidence in chief Visser, nicknamed "Advocate Barbie", described how Prinsloo allegedly performed lurid sex acts with her and other people, including young girls.
