Paramedics attended to numerous collisions following rain in northern parts of Johannesburg on Saturday.

A 24-year-old motor biker died in Fairlands, bystanders say the man apparently collided with two vehicles — including a bakkie — on 14th Avenue towards Roodepoort, a woman in the bakkie was slightly hurt.

Another woman had to be hospitalised with possible spinal injuries after a three-car pile-up on the N1 between Allandale and New Roads off ramp.

Three security guards were also injured on the N1 North after Allandale, when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed with the one in front of them.

A tow-truck driver was also hurt on the N3 highway near Marlboro after two vehicles crashed, a woman was also injured in this collision.
