A taxi accident in Durban on Sunday has left 10 injured, Netcare 911 said.

The accident happened in the afternoon on Shongweni road when the taxi lost control and drove down an embankment, Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said in a statement.

Nine of the people in the taxi were seriously injured, one suffered only minor injuries.

All of the patients were taken to hospital.
