The body of an 80-year-old man was found in his bedroom, at his home in Kensington on Saturday, Western Cape police said.

"William Bedin was found by his wife at 9.30am," said Inspector Bernadine Steyn.

She said Bedin had no open wounds, but that an electrical cord was found near his body.

"An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death."

A case of murder was being investigated, Steyn said.
