International sex crimes fugitive Dirk Prinsloo apparently wants to return to South Africa.

In an e-mail sent to the National Prosecuting Authority and to Eyewitness News, Prinsloo said he fled the country in 2006 to ensure the safety of his then unborn child.

Prinsloo and his co-accused Cezanne Visser were on trial for an array of sex crimes when he skipped bail.

The NPA confirmed the e-mail was sent by Prinsloo.

In the letter, he demands a meeting with acting prosecutions boss Mokotedi Mpshe, saying he would return under certain conditions.

The e-mail went on to say Prinsloo was living in exile because he had to face an unfair prosecution.

The mail gives Mpshe 72 hours to respond after which the mailbox will be terminated.

Prinsloo has been on the run for over two years despite being on Interpol?s Red List.
