Cezanne Visser's sex crimes trial will not be interrupted if her former lover and co-accused makes a return to the country.

Dirk Prinsloo, or someone claiming to be him, recently sent an email to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in which he offered to return to the country on certain conditions.

One of the stipulations is that he meets directly with the acting National Director of Public Prosecution, Mokotedi Mpshe.

Prinsloo skipped bail and fled in 2006 while on trial with Visser on a host of sexual charges.

Visser's advocate Johan Engelbrecht said even if the NPA entertains a deal with the fugitive it will not impact on her trial.

"That case must be decided on the evidence presented during her trial," said Engelbrecht.

The advocate said Visser is convinced the email was sent by Prinsloo, not only because of the arrogant language used but also because the author seems to have inside knowledge of the trial.

In the letter sent to the NPA, the author lashes out at Visser, the prosecutor and the media saying they are responsible for his current exile.
