A 33-year-old Port Elizabeth man was arrested for being in possession of dagga with the street value of R400 000 on Saturday, Eastern Cape police said.
"Police were conducting a routine patrol on the N2 freeway on Saturday. A bakkie was seen swerving along the road near the Reed Valley area and when police approached it, they could smell the dagga," said spokesperson, Sandra Janse van Rensburg.
Upon inspection, police found 21 bags full of dagga and four half full bags, all weighing 500 kilograms, Janse van Rensburg said.
The man was expected to appear in the Krinkelbos Magistrates Court on Tuesday, facing charges of dealing in drugs.
