A woman and a man were injured after a BMW crashed through a barrier and fell onto rocks at a beach in Cape Town, ER24 emergency services said on Saturday.
Spokesperson Tristan Wadeley said a BMW with two people inside it broke through a barrier and fell about five metres onto rocks on the beach below. The incident happened in a parking lot on Beach Road, opposite The Peninsula Hotel in Sea Point around 11.30am on Saturday. The woman sustained moderate injuries. Paramedics took precautions when moving her and she was fully immobilised to protect her spine during transport. The man sustained only minor injuries. Both were taken to the New Somerset Hospital for further treatment, Wadeley said.
