The body of the 19-year-old man, who went missing shortly after cashing a cheque in Fordsburg in Johannesburg, has been found.

Three suspects have been taken in for questioning.

On Thursday afternoon Bilal Asmal withdrew a substantial amount of money and was walking to his uncle's offices, which is next to the First National Bank in Fordsburg, during which time he disappeared.

Friends and family of the youth expressed disbelieve over how Asmal could have been killed so carelessly.

His lifeless body was found early on Sunday morning in an open field in Main Reef near the Johannesburg city centre.

Meanwhile, the Lenasia community, where he lived, said they have grown impatient with crime and have vowed to mobilise to fight the scourge.
