Dozens of SABC employees picketed outside the public broadcaster's head offices in Auckland Park on Friday, over salary increases and mismanagement.
Members from the Communication Workers Union said management had failed to increase their wages even after they signed a contract that ensured them of a 10% increment.
The union's Tshidi Malema said there would be a news blackout if their demands were not met.
"We signed a contract a year ago when they were doing our increases and now they don't want to honour that. No radio, no television we are going to switch off," said Malema.
SABC management was meeting with the union to discuss the matter.
