A South African registered PA-31 light aircraft with registration number ZS-NPG crash landed into the northern Nampula airport on Friday minutes after take off from the same airport, the daily Noticias reported today citing sources from the Mozambican airports company.
However the Maputo-based paper said none of the three passengers
aboard the aircraft were injured.
It said, said citing airports company sources, that the pilot of
the aircraft had warned the Nampula control tower that his plane
had developed mechanical faults and was granted permission to
return to the airport.
The pilot allegedly failed to control the plane which nose dived
into the airport pavement.
Last month another South African registered crash landed into
Chingodzi airport, in north western Tete province after the pilot
allegedly reported mechanical faults.
The aircraft was on its way to neighbouring and the only
passenger, the pilot, was not injured.
