Former law and order minister Adriaan vlok has conceded to Eyewitness News that he was not ready to apologise to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Vlok and other former high-ranking police officers and politicians were subpoenaed to appear before the TRC in 1996.

A week ago Vlok washed the feet of 13 former policemen and soldiers at a religious gathering in Bloemfontein.

In mid-2006 Vlok publicly apologised for his role during apartheid and washed the feet of Reverend Frank Chikane who had previously been targeted by Vlok for assassination.
