Three people were killed when their car was struck by a BMW which allegedly skipped a stop sign in Diepsloot near Johannesburg, paramedics said on Sunday.

A BMW collided with a large Audi on the corner of Mnandi road and the R562 between Diepsloot and Midrand shortly after 7pm on Saturday, Netcare 911 spokesperson Mark Stokoe said.

"The impact was serious and the Audi wound up in the veld."

Three of the people in the Audi, including the driver, were killed. Three people in the BMW were also injured, one seriously.
