President Jacob Zuma's daughter, Gugulethu Zuma, will soon star in the SABC soap drama Isidingo, Beeld newspaper reported on Thursday.

Zuma (24) is the daughter of the president and his former wife, Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

She secured a role in the soap drama after three auditions.

Zuma will hit the screens on 1 July as Lesedi Moloi, a character who returns to South Africa after living abroad for five years.

Zuma told Beeld that she was not really interested in politics.

"There are other ways to reach out to people than being a politician," she said.
