The African National Congress’s leadership is expected to meet Public Enterprises Minister Barbara Hogan on Friday to discuss why she is considering selling off unporfitable state-owned companies.

Hogan told Parliament earlier this week that parastatals that are losing money may be sold off.

The ANC, trade union federation COSATU and mineworkers' NUM have all criticised the minister's statements.

The ruling party's Jessie Duarte says the party wants more clarity.

NUM says Hogan is showing bias towards the Democratic Alliance agenda's and deviating from ANC policies.
