Judgment in the sex crimes trial of a former Pretoria advocate is expected in October in the North Gauteng High Court.

Cezanne Visser is accused of sexually abusing several women and girls together with her former lover Dirk Prinsloo.

Prinsloo skipped bail while on trial in 2006. He was arrested in Belarus last week following a failed bank robbery.

After the defence closed its case, acting judge Chris Eksteen said he would probably be ready to hand down judgment at the beginning of the court's last term in October.

The sex crimes trial was postponed to August, when final arguments will be heard.

Visser's lawyers are using the so-called battered woman syndrome as a defence, arguing she was completely under Prinsloo's control and had no mind of her own.

The state argues that Visser (nicknamed Advocate Barbie because of her blonde hair and good looks) knew what she was doing and followed Prinsloo's instructions because it suited her.
