The wife of one of four South African men who have been missing in Baghdad since 2006 said she is praying that her husband is still alive after the bodies of two British hostages were handed over in Iraq last week.

South African's Andre Durant, Johan Enslin, Callie Scheepers and Hardus Greeff were working as security escorts for a truck carrying food and water when they were abducted at a roadblock.

Enslin's wife, Marie, said the men were kidnapped months before five British citizens were taken hostage and that two of the Britons have turned up dead.

She added that all the families of the men want is closure.

"The families are not holding up, the children are under immense stress. It's almost like you living in a nightmare because you wake up each and every day with the expectation that this would actually come to an end," Marie said solemnly.
