R Kelly is expected to make a statement on Tuesday to local police about a scam in which a woman used his name to allegedly defraud people out of millions of rand.

The woman at the centre of the scam — Busiswe Zakwe — is out on bail and faces 67 charges of fraud.

R Kelly's attorney Sharon Wapnick said he had no knowledge about the scam in which a woman conned fans out of millions by promising them a show in 2005.

The R 'n B superstar has already sold out his show at Sun City this weekend and another has been added for Sunday.

Wapnick said he aimed to talk to police: "This is a pretty unscheduled event in a very full schedule but we’re trying to set something up."

The case is back in court next month.
