Eight cars were seized on Friday in a vehicle theft syndicate bust in Pretoria, Gauteng police said.

Responding to a tip-off, Pretoria police were led to a flat where they found a Toyota Tazz which was reported stolen as well as two other cars also believed to have been stolen, said Inspector Daniel Mavimbela.

Police then went to a house in Pretoria West where they found a Mazda and Toyota Corolla which had been reported as hijacked in Temba and Haga-Rankuwa, respectively.

A BMW 'Dolphin', Toyota Corolla and a Volkswagen Polo, believed to have been stolen, were also found there.

A 30-year old man was arrested at the first scene. Police are continuing their investigations and expect more arrests.
