Two taxi accidents on Saturday evening left 32 people injured in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
Twenty people were hurt, 10 of them seriously, when a minibus taxi struck a cow and overturned at 6pm on Moss Kolnik district road near Adams Mission, ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said in a statement on Sunday.
"Out of the 20 patients, 10 were treated for serious injuries, varying from possible neck and back injuries to possible fractures. The remaining 10 patients were treated for minor to moderate injuries."
Another 13 people – eight adults and three children in a taxi and another motorist – were hurt in another accident at 9.15pm on the N2 North near Joyner Road.
The vehicle allegedly rear-ended the minibus taxi when it cut into the lane ahead of it. The vehicle crashed into the bushes on the side of the N2 while the taxi rolled over before righting itself on the centre medium.
