Police arrested 351 people in central Johannesburg over the weekend.

They were nabbed for crimes ranging from hijacking, assault, child abuse, armed robbery, business robbery, fraud, vandalism, drinking in public, reckless driving and loitering to shoplifting, said Inspector Xoli Mbele in a statement on Sunday.

Two firearms, a knife, dagga and 120 pirated DVDs were confiscated.

Most of those arrested would appear in Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
