SA Roadlink has denied the driver of a bus that crashed en route from Cape Town to Johannesburg killing seven people fell asleep behind the wheel.

The incident happened on the N1 near Beaufort West on Tuesday morning.

Dozens more people were injured.

The company’s Mapaseka Mashele said they are investigating.

"All our drivers are highly experienced and are taken for advanced driving skills and refresher courses every three months."
