A dance group leader died in hospital after he drove his car
into a truck in Nigel on Wednesday, police said.
Inspector Madelein von Weilligh said Willie Groenewald, in his
early 20s, drove into a truck in a head-on collision on the Delmas
road in the Vorsterskroon industrial area in Nigel around 3.30am.
"He was critically injured and flown to the Charlotte Maxeke
(formerly Johannesburg General) hospital," she said.
Groenwald died at 9.40pm from serious injuries to his head and
chest.
He is the creator of the dancing group Hold, who had performed
for charity with a number of well-known stars.
