The woman who was convicted, along with Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, in connection with the kidnap and murder of Stompie Seipei, Xoliswa Falati, has died.

Falati died at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Hospital on Wednesday.

She told the Truth and Reconcilliation Commission that Madikizela-Mandela had the blood of African children on her hands in the 1990s, describing Mandela’s ex-wife as an "ungrateful woman".

Falati spent time in jail because of her involvement in Seipei’s death. She claimed Madikizela-Mandela was responsible for the murder.

Johannesburg Central Methodist Church leader, Bishop Paul Verryn, worked closely with Falati and says she will be sorely missed.

"Towards the end she was suffering so profoundly. Let’s hope this is a step to a new beginning for her," Verryn told Eyewitness News on Thursday morning.

Madikizela-Mandela was not convicted of murder, but lesser charges, in connection with Seipei's death.
