Mthokozisi Msani and Simo Msani were on Friday found guilty of
killing retired Austrian soccer player Peter Burgstaller in 2007.
Handing down judgment in the Durban High Court, Judge Vuka
Shabalala said the evidence showed that both men were present when
Burgstaller was killed at Selborne Golf Estate.
Mthokozisi Msani and Simo Msani were arrested in 2007 after
Burgstaller (43) was found with a bullet wound in his chest at the
estate on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.
Shabalala found both the Msani brothers guilty of murder and
armed robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Mthokozisi was also found guilty of being in possession of an
illegal firearm and ammunition.
Mthokozisi, who had interrupted proceedings since the beginning
of the trial last year, shouted and accused the court of finding
him guilty of a crime he did not commit.
"I want the court to show me evidence," he shouted.
"Shut up! I have just given you reasons for my finding," said
Shabalala.
Sentencing was expected to be passed after lunch.
