Justice Minister, Jeff Radebe will let Western Cape Judge President, John Hlophe know whether he can return to work before next Monday.

Hlophe is on self-imposed leave, pending the completion of the Judicial Service Commission's investigation into whether he improperly influenced Constitutional Court Judges in a case involving President Jacob Zuma.

Hlope has written to Radebe, informing him that he will return to the bench after recess on 27 July.

It's Hlophe's second attempt to return to work ? Radebe's predecessor, Enver Surty ordered him to go back on leave.

"The minister is still considering the matter and once he would have made a determination, he will communicate his views accordingly to Judge President, John Hlophe and that should happen before next Monday," said Radebe's spokesperson, Tlali Tlali.
