The Judicial Service Commission's preliminary inquiry into a

complaint against Cape Judge President John Hlophe ended in

Johannesburg on Thursday afternoon.

JSC sub-committee chair Judge Bernard Ngoepe said the record of

proceedings would be transcribed and given to the greater JSC.

It would then meet on August 15 "to consider how to take the

matter forward", said Ngoepe.

It may well be that on that particular day the 15th August the

body might take decisions, including one on whether to hear the

parties first.

"They will be applying their mind for the first time on the

15th," he said.

Members of the commission would then give further directions on

how the matter should be dealt with, Ngoepe said.
