Cope youth leader Anele Mda has apologised to deputy general secretary Deidre Carter for calling her a "stupid, token white bitch", the Dispatch Online reported on Friday.

"I... wish to extend an unconditional apology to Ms Carter for any prejudice my utterances might have caused," Mda said.

She pleaded guilty to making racist, sexist and politically intolerant remarks towards Carter at a disciplinary hearing.

The chairman of the Congress of the People's national disciplinary committee, John Korkie, said Mda's suspension from two months ago after her remarks had now been lifted.

Last year, Mda had to apologise for saying that rape would be legalised if President Jacob Zuma ruled the country.
