A Johannesburg City Parks official will appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday after being arrested for speeding over the weekend, Johannesburg metro police said.

The official was allegedly driving at 128km/h in a 80km/h zone with his BMW X5, spokesperson Pendani Tebeila said on Monday.

A total of 97 people were arrested around the city since last Monday for reckless or negligent driving as well as speeding. They would also appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
