Judge John Hlophe's legal team said he feels vindicated by Friday's Judicial Service Commission decision saying he did not interfere with Constitutional Court cases relating to President Jacob Zuma.
In a split decision the JSC said it would not continue to the cross-examination phase as no new evidence would come to light.
It also said none of the judges that Hlophe is accused of approaching actually said he wanted them to judge in Zuma's favour.
Hlophe's attorney Barnabus Xulu said there was no deal done: "There is no deal that we as the legal team of Judge Hlophe and as well as he is aware of."
