Sex crimes accused Cezanne Visser will have to wait until October to find learn her fate.
Visser and her former lover Dirk Prinsloo allegedly sexually abused several women and girls but their trials had to be separated when he skipped bail and fled the country.
Final arguments were delivered in the North Gauteng High Court on Friday with Visser's lawyers arguing she cannot be found guilty because she was manipulated and controlled by Prinsloo.
However, prosecutors have labelled this argument a desperate attempt to avoid accountability arguing Visser chose to do Prinsloo?s bidding because it suited her.
Judgement will be handed down more than four years after Visser and Prinsloo's trial first started.
When Prinsloo fled the country in 2006, Visser's trial had to begin from scratch while the case against Prinsloo will only resume once he is extradited from Belarus which may take years.
Got something to say?
