Two men were wounded in a shootout between four men and police officers who tried to stop and search them near Lyttelton, Pretoria police said on Thursday.
Officers tried to search the four who were driving around in an Audi A4 around 1pm in Lyttelton, Captain Agnes Huma said.
They pointed firearms at the police, Huma said.

"The men drove away and police members called for assistance."
During the ensuing car chase shots were fired and two of the men in the Audi were wounded. The Audi was eventually stopped in the Wierdabrug area.
Four more ANCYL officials have reportedly been charged with bringing the ANC into disrepute.
