Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zoe Kota-Fredericks will be
transferred to a Cape Town hospital on Friday after receiving
treatment in George following a car accident last month.
National human settlements spokesperson Ishmael Selemale said the deputy minister would be flown to Cape Town in Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale's private jet.
"She will be flown to Cape Town international airport and
admitted to the Chris Barnard Hospital, where she will undergo
further treatment and a period of recuperation and rest," Selemale
said in a statement.
Selemale said Kota-Fredericks had indicated she would like to be near her family and friends during the festive season and doctors agreed she could be moved closer to her home in Cape Town.
Kota-Fredericks was taken to George Medi-Clinic after an accident
on the N1 near Leeu Gamka on November 1.
The deputy minister and her driver were driving on the N1 in the
direction of Cape Town when they collided head-on with a bakkie
20km outside Leeu Gamka.
The occupants of the bakkie, a father and son, were killed.
