A woman, attacked by three females in peak hour traffic in north-eastern Johannesburg, says police informed her of similar incidents in the area.

Nicole Rebelo was attacked earlier this week by women who she said looked ordinary.

They approached her from a white Nissan bakkie at the Louise Botha and Ivy intersection in Norwood.

"They were trying to open the door viciously and they were just banging on the door and trying to break the window and I just go out of there.

"Police say it has happened a few times before in that area," said Rebelo.
