Caster Semenya's lawyers are awaiting a response from the International Association of Athletics Federations after they asked the organisation for her medical records.

The athlete's legal team wants the athletics body to provide records of her consent to invasive gender tests.

Semenya sprinted to victory in the Athletics World Championships in Berlin last month, fuelling questions about her gender.

The alleged results of the tests were recently leaked to an Australian newspaper.

Semenya?s lawyer Greg Nott said Semenya suffered a gross injustice.

"We're hoping to get information that assists us in formulating something which gets the desired results for her which at the end of the day is her dignity and protection of her rights."
