Three suspects were wounded during a shoot-out with the Pretoria flying squad, on Thursday night.

It is understood four armed men hijacked a man in Sunnyside late on Thursday night.

The man told police his car was being taken to Morula Park.

When officers arrived and spotted the car, the suspects opened fire and a shoot-out ensued.

The police's Kgaogelo Moses said he and his colleagues arrested three suspects.

"When we tried to stop them, they tried to escape and we gave chase and they started shooting at us. Suspects were shot and taken to hospital," said Moses

One hijacker is still at large.
