Cape Town police say they have ruled out foul play after a body was found in a burnt out Land Rover 4x4 in Goodwood on Sunday morning.

A 20-year-old man's body was found on the back seat of the car.

Firefighters were called out when a Land Rover parked outside a house in Goodwood caught fire.

After extinguishing the blaze firefighters made the gruesome discovery

Superintendent Andrè Traut says after the police's initial investigation it is unlikely there was malicious criminal intent.

It is believed the vehicle belonged to the victim's parents and that he had slept in the car overnight after parking it in their drive way.
